Don´t drink the water

they´re not kidding! i must say i´ve been real careful since i got here and still... not to gross anyone out, but the runs coupled with 90 degrees and many miles is not cool. i must of spent 10 minutes in the pharmacia using various forms of profain and disgusting sign language to convey my predicament. it took him suprisingly long to get it. anyways the doc hooked me up and i am feeling much better. start day is tomorrow and all of the other teams have arrived at the hotel. the canadians are HUGE. real goddamned beasts from the nordic country or something. fast in the flats but hopefully slow in the hills. the central americans (we call them el guata costa pana ricans) however are all half my size and fit 20 to a pickup truck. and i am not all that big. i have always considered my self to be a fairly talented climber, but i am fairly convinced i am in a place full of TALENTED climbers, who all can fit in my pocket by the way. i am ready for my ass whooping in short. i´ll let you know how it goes. anyways, tomorrow starts the race with the individual prolougue. one racer at a time against the clock on a 5 k course. not too tough yet...
